Jaime was born in Cali and grew up in Bogotá. He studied photography at GrisArt Escola in Barcelona and anthropology at the International Institute of Social Studies in Den Haag, Netherlands.

 

He began working as a photographer in 1999 after moving to Barcelona and was based in Spain for three years. In 2001 he left back to Colombia for began a project called Visora in witch with some friends and colleagues they make several author and commercial projects.

 

In 2008 he co-founded Ojodepez, a photography studio based in Colombia and the Netherlands.

 

Since 2010 he began to work with different indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest for the defence of their Human Rights and simultaneously making a series of portraits called Dreams and Fears one of his projects.

 

His work is based in the complexity of human itself, their ordinary routine and sometimes in their dehumanization.
